Who We Are

The Cabbage Patch Settlement House is a local nonprofit, empowering children, youth, and families to reach their full potential since 1910. Our mission is to provide life-changing academic, recreational, and mentoring opportunities through Christ-centered values.

What We Do

The Cabbage Patch provides a safe place for kids to grow & flourish through its educational & recreational programs. Kids & teens can receive homework help / one-on-one tutoring support from staff members in our Education department. The College Scholars program offers teens the opportunity to receive scholarships and additional support during their college journey. The Cabbage Patch also provides a wide variety of recreational and social activities for kids, such as: sports, dance, art, theater, cooking, gardening, and outdoor activities. Kids & youth who participate in these activities learn various skills like teamwork, commitment, discipline, sportsmanship and respect. In addition to recreational & educational support for youth, the Cabbage Patch also offers support to the families of Cabbage Patch kids through services like counseling, the food pantry, rent / utility assistance, back-to-school supplies, etc. In this way, the Cabbage Patch seeks to give holistic care to Louisville children & families, especially to those facing systemic issues like poverty & racism.
