Who We Are
The Kentucky Derby is not just woven into the fabric of Kentucky; it’s an icon known all over the globe. It is a snapshot into the culture of the world, all throughout history. It’s a unifying event that brings everyone together. We are storytellers. We bridge the gap between the past and present day. We keep traditions alive, never to be forgotten. Kentucky Derby Museum is more than a museum – it’s a team dedicated to preserving and sharing the history, culture, and impact of the Kentucky Derby.
What We Do
Our Mission: ENGAGE, EDUCATE, and EXCITE EVERYONE about the extraordinary experience that is the Kentucky Derby!
Our Volunteers play an invaluable role in bringing the Museum's mission to life. With a wide variety of opportunities, we are confident that we can find something to fit your interests.
Volunteering at the Kentucky Derby Museum can look like:
- Assisting guests during our Guided Track Visits of Churchill Downs™
- Helping visitors with activities such as designing their very own Derby hat or decorating horseshoes.
- Presenting various exhibitions to school groups throughout the year
- helping Museum staff with crucial day to day projects
