House of W.O.M.B. Foundation Inc

The House of W.O.M.B., Women Overcoming Many Barriers, Foundation Inc is a Louisville based nonprofit. The founder chose this name because at the age of fifteen, she became pregnant and gave birth to her first daughter (now a mother of three girls). Motherhood at such a young age brought many struggles both personal and financial. She lacked family support, sound guidance, money, and in all, assistance from anyone that could help her succeed in her new role. The pain she endured during this time and the hurdles she managed to overcome helped give birth to her organization.

House Of W.O.M.B. (H.O.W.) established in January 2022 is a nonprofit organization for women and children in crisis. H.O.W.’s mission is to provide a sanctuary, a place where women can come to understand what it means to be a successful mother and young adult and feel supported and loved in this new chapter of life. We achieve this mission via rehabilitation programs, educational development, personal/ life skills, art therapy, mentoring, case management, and employment resources. H.O.W. vision is to create an empowering space for women and children focused on addressing issues that women face in the community (domestic violence, femicide, lack of education, & emotional, health issues) to help build strong, self-supporting families.
