Who We Are
New Directions is a not-for-profit community development organization with 50 years of experience working on affordable housing issues in Louisville and Southern Indiana. The agency was incorporated as a non-profit in April 1971, receiving IRS 501 (C)3 status in October 1972. Today, New Directions supports neighborhoods, families and individuals and serves Jefferson County, Kentucky, and Floyd and Clark counties in Southern Indiana. Its primary strategies include providing affordable housing to approximately 1,000 low-income families, supporting these families through service coordination, preserving homeownership through volunteer and contract repairs for elderly and disabled homeowners, and community building and engagement activities.
