As part of our community outreach initiatives, Project Warm offers informational Energy Management Workshops throughout the year. Workshop Assistants help with set up and break down, hand out and collect materials, and assist with the demonstration portion of the workshop. Training by Project Warm staff is provided.

Volunteer: Healthy Homes "Seconds"

Healthy Homes Seconds will ride alone with one of our trained Healthy Homes Evaluators to assist in the interview and evaluation portion of our Healthy Homes program. Seconds will be another set of eyes and ears during the interview, and will sit with the client while the Healthy Homes Evaluator inspects the home. They may also relay questions and answers for clients with mobility challenges, and make conversation throughout the 4-hour visit. All Seconds volunteers will receive an orientation prior to their first home visit, as well as the opportunity to ride along on a fully-staffed visit prior to ‘going live.’. Prior health care or hospitality experience is welcome but not required.

Volunteer: First Line Weatherization Volunteer

Looking to get your hands dirty? With supervision from Project Warm's Weatherization Specialist, volunteers assist in installing weather stripping, repairing cracked and leaky windows, replacing furnace filters, and other minor home repairs, all with the goal of making clients' homes more comfortable and energy efficient. Volunteers for the First Line program meet Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at the Project Warm office and head out to job sites from there. Work goes from approximately 9:30 AM to early afternoon. Prior home repair experience is welcome but not required.

​Skills required: Good sense of humor, respect for safety, knowing how to read a tape measure, ability to operate a power saw, drill, and other standard tools. We will provide training.
