Greet donors, explain the donation process as necessary and assist with initial intake and hand offs through the blood donation process Manage donor flow at temp taking station to ensure only donors passing temp screen are permitted access. Explain purpose of temperature screen to donors and ensure they understand reason for deferral if applicable. Direct donor to next step of donation or options for future donations if deferred. Model excellent customer service behaviors. Ensure blood donors have relevant information and that questions are answered appropriately while creating a favorable impression of the blood donation process. Learn and share the Red Cross story, including the mission, vision, and values Provide customer service to donors in the Hospitality Area by ensuring that each donor is recognized for his/her contribution. Report possible adverse post-donation physical reactions to the collections staff. Disaster Health Services Service Associate is a temporary position assigned to work in person before, during and/or after a disaster event this hurricane/wildfire season. Volunteers in this role provide assistance and healthcare to shelter residents as needed.  

Provide hands on care for shelter clients to include but not limited to assistance with activities of daily living, wound care, incontinence care, assistance with functional needs. Provide health education, health assessments and determination if a higher level of care is needed. Assist clients to replace medications, durable medical equipment or consumable medical supplies. Advocate for client needs with Disaster Health Services supervisor. Support maternal and child needs as necessary. Complete required virtual self-paced training for position (4 hours total)

Completes all required training and maintains current training standard as DAT program requirements change. Attends regular team meetings and training as required by the region/territory. Completes assigned projects and local response activities according to the needs of the DAT program. (Preparing vehicles, response materials, administrative support of the DAT program and other tasks assigned by the DAT Leader.
