Mock Interview Volunteers support participants in the THRIVE class at the South Louisville SPOT by conducting one‑on‑one or small‑group mock interviews. Volunteers help participants practice answering common interview questions, build confidence, and receive constructive feedback in a realistic interview setting. This experience plays a critical role in preparing participants for upcoming employment opportunities by simulating real‑world hiring interactions. Key Responsibilities Conduct structured mock interviews using provided interview questions Create a realistic interview environment to help participants prepare for real hiring situations Observe and provide constructive feedback on: Communication and clarity of responses Body language, eye contact, and professionalism Confidence and overall interview presence Share written or verbal feedback with Goodwill staff to reinforce strengths and identify growth areas Encourage participants to recognize and clearly articulate their skills, experience, and career goals Ideal Volunteer Qualifications Experience in hiring, human resources, recruiting, management, coaching, or professional interviewing is helpful but not required Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to provide supportive, respectful, and trauma‑informed feedback Attention to detail and a constructive, encouraging approach Commitment to professionalism and confidentiality ImpactTHRIVE participants often prepare for their first interview in years—or their first interview ever.
