Winter Festival Details:
The Winter Festival is held at Americana Community Center at 4801 Southside Drive on Friday, December 15. All volunteers should arrive at Americana at 5:00 PM for an orientation before the event begins at 6:00 PM. Volunteers are encouraged to stay for the entire event until 8:30 PM.
Our Winter Festival is a festive event that brings joy to families of all faiths. This event wraps up one more year of bringing holistic services to our international community. We provide warm winter clothes for kids, games and crafts, family portraits, gifts from Santa, snacks, and more on December 15 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Volunteer stations:
Lobby Assistance: Engage with families and usher them to check in at the registration table. Ask families to enjoy hot chocolate in the lobby until a group of ~15 people have checked in before moving to gym and cafeteria activities. Help keep lobby and hallway clean.
Winter Games: Help direct children in ring toss, Olaf bowling, and other winter games in the gym. Help clean up the gym after the event ends.
Cafeteria Crafts: Monitor crafting stations of wreath making and cookie decorating. Keep cafeteria clean during and after event.
Family Portraits: Walk families into the library and organize the cue for photographs. Assist photographers and Americana staff as needed. Help clean up the library once the event is over.
Winter Hats & Gloves: Engage with families and help each child pick out winter clothes in their size. Keep winter clothes organized.
Santa's Elves: Engage with families and help direct children in line to visit Santa. Offer two choices of gifts to each child and help move them through the line efficiently. Help clean up the gym after the event.
