Description

**Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age**

  • Check In - Each pourer will check in on August 24, 2024 from 2:00pm to 2:30pm in the Louisville
Zoo’s employee parking lot. See Evaluation & Payment Clause for payment deductions
    for late or absent Pourers.
  • Training - Each pourer must attend the training session on the day of the event, August 24th from
2:45pm to 3:15pm. The Pourer will not be permitted to work the event if they do not
attend the training session. The training session will include alcohol training provided by
Services Systems Associates, Inc. (SSA) and specific instructions for the pourer’s
designated area provided by Brew at the Zoo 2023 leadership. Each pourer must review
and sign SSA’s alcohol serving agreement and Louisville Metro Government Agreement
to Volunteer. See Evaluation & Payment Clause for payment deductions for absent
    Pourers.
  • Setup - Pourers will assist with table setup in their area from 3:30pm to 5pm (guests arrive at
5pm). Set up may include but not limited to hanging banners, arranging kegs, coolers,
taps, ice, etc. Pourers should attempt to learn about the beer/wine they will be pouring
(either read the description on the table or talk to the brewer if available).
  • Beer & Wine Pouring - Alcohol will be served from 5pm to 9pm. Pourers will be pouring a 2 ounce beer/wine
sample. NO ALCOHOL can be consumed by the Pourer before or during the event. If the
Pourer is observed consuming alcohol or violating any other alcohol serving rule by FOZ
members, Louisville Staff members or SSA members, then the Pourer will be removed
from the event. See Evaluation & Payment for payment deductions for improper alcohol
    serving.
  • Station Cleanup - At 9:00pm Pourers must stop serving beer/wine. At 9:30pm guests will be asked to
leave. DO NOT leave the station for any reason until excess beer/wine has been put
away. The Pourers will be responsible for cleaning their station and picking up trash in
the approximate 5 foot radius of the station. Once station cleanup has been completed,
check out with the area volunteer leader.
If the station’s beer/wine has been depleted before the end of the event, check with the
area volunteer leader in case additional supplies can be found or help is needed
elsewhere. It is understood that the Pourers will be responsible for cleaning their station
and picking up trash in the approximate 5 foot radius of the station. Once station
cleanup has been completed, check out with the area pourer volunteer leader.
  • Breaks - Pourers are allowed two 15-minute breaks. At a minimum one Pourer must remain at a
station at all times during the event.
  • Attire - Pourers may either wear matching shirts with their Volunteer Organization’s logo or a white polo. All other worn garments must be appropriate for the event.
  • Tips - Pourers may accept tips but tip jars are not to be seen by guests and tips cannot be solicited (Tipping is generally atypical of this event).
  • Food/Refreshments A boxed lunch, water and other nonalcoholic beverages will be available to Pourers. Pourers are not to take samples from food vendors. Pourers may bring snacks to eatduring their break(s) but no means for heating or preparing food will be provided.
