Join us for “The Wear” at Wesley House Community Services’ “Clothes-Out, Invest-In” event. Meet us in the parking lot at 5114 Preston Highway just past Gilmore Ln. Clothes, shoes, jewelry for children, women, and men are free to the community in a sidewalk style giveaway. Come out and bring the family! We are opening space to build capacity so that we can do more. Everything must go! Donations to help advance our mission are appreciated! Support our mission; helping people to help themselves.
Saturday, October 10th - Masks required and social distancing. Gloves will be available.
• Volunteers needed from 10am to 6pm In order to assist with identifying volunteers, I would ask that they wear a black t-shirt.
• Sign up to serve the full day or for a 4hr shift (10am to 2pm or 2pm to 6pm)
• Coffee, water, and lunch will be provided
•STATIONS
1. RUNNERS: Move clothing racks, shoes, and other items from the thrift store to outside parking lot. Most of the racks do have wheels. We will have dolly’s available to assist with transport of those that don’t have wheels. Bring racks in as they are emptied and make adjustments as items are cleared.
2. HOSTS: Take temperatures as patrons come in the parking lot. Share information flyers/pamphlets about Wesley House programs. Manage social distance requirements. Enforce face mask requirements and have guests wait in car if numbers exceed 10.
3. LOADERS: Collect and carry out identified furniture and equipment items for community giveaway or disposal in the dumpster. Some heavy furniture will be thrown out.
4. CLEAN TEAM: As items are cleared out, the clean team will wipe down and disinfect surfaces, mop and/or vacuum and sanitize the areas
