Material Handling & Setup/Breakdown: (1:30 PM - 3:00 PM / 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM)Kids Station Supervisors: (3:00 PM - 7:00 PM)Trash Collection: (Continuous, 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM)Assistance with Carrying Items: (3:00 PM - 7:00 PM)Vendors and Event Support: (Continuous, 2:30 PM - 8:00 PM)Greeters: (2:30 PM - 7:00 PM)Canvassing: (Before and during the market, 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM and various times)Sign Holding: (Peak times, 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM)

Check-In: Upon arrival, please check in at the Registration Tent where you will receive your instructions. This is also where you can leave personal belongings in a secure area.

Dress Code: Comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended.

Breaks and Refreshments: Refreshments will be available at the Volunteer Tent. We have scheduled breaks for everyone, and you can coordinate break times with your co-volunteers and supervisors.

Join Change Today, Change Tomorrow in supporting our Feed the West Free Grocery Distribution, Monday-Thursday from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM (at the latest).

INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS/ NON-CORPORATE TEAMS: 
Before working your first shift, please attend our Monthly Volunteer Meeting for an orientation about volunteering at Feed the West. The meeting is every third Friday, 1 pm at Baxter Community Center. You can register via the Metro United Way shift or contact bri to let us know you're coming

If you have more than ten volunteers, we have several other ways to activate and engage your group outside of our food program. Please reach out to bri to coordinate these opportunities

A usual shift has tasks like

unloading groceriessorting groceries (putting like items together)assessing groceriesdoing quality control to ensure we are only giving out the best itemsbreak down boxesensure compost is put in compost bags and measuredhelp set up, pack up, and clean up any additional needs
