Volunteer: Join the C.H.O.I.C.E. Volunteer Team!

At C.H.O.I.C.E. (Children Have Options in Choosing Experiences), we believe in the power of mentorship, leadership, and community. We’re seeking passionate volunteers from all walks of life who want to make a difference in the lives of Louisville youth and their families.

We’re currently looking for individuals who can become:

 C.H.O.I.C.E. Mentors: Support a student-athlete through leadership and goal setting. Mentor a high school athlete through our "Dare to Dream" Sports Leadership & Mentoring Program. Workshop or Group Hosts: Share knowledge or experience on topics like mental health, career readiness, or financial literacy. Host workshops or information sessions for our youth participants and/or their families. Community Ambassadors: Help us spread awareness through family outreach and fundraising events. Lead or assist with community activities that raise awareness and promote positive options for families across Louisville.


Volunteering opportunities will take place at various locations throughout Louisville and can be scheduled based on your availability. However, a consistent commitment is expected once you join our volunteer team. Volunteers should be able to commit 5–10 hours per month to help us inspire the next generation of leaders. If you’re dedicated, compassionate, and ready to share your time and talents, we’d love to have you on our team. Complete our volunteer interest form or email Dr. Dawn K. C.H.O.I.C.E. (Children Have Options In Choosing Experiences) Inc is a community board seeking professionals from varied roles willing to use their talents, circle of influences, and positive energy to help move the agency's mission forward. Board members are eager to fully leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to achieve C.H.O.I.C.E. Inc’s strategic planning goals.

Board members serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for C.H.O.I.C.E. Inc to advance its mission. An influential community board member understands it consists of more than just attending community board meetings thus involves a mid to high level of commitment. The following standards are sought in C.H.O.I.C.E. Board Members:

Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings Participate fully in one or more committees Attend one community event representing the agency, in addition to attending one service programming event. Help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing and influence public policy. Create a purposeful plan in collaboration with the Chairperson and Executive Director Remain accountable for the timeline and finish product of projects assigned to or volunteered for Understanding the responsibilities of Duty of Care, Duty of Loyalty, and Duty of Obedience  

Board meetings occur quarterly in person; If unable to attend the meeting, members are responsible for giving notice to the agency of your absence. Members are required to attend 80% of the scheduled meetings to maintain awareness and functionality of the agency.

C.H.O.I.C.E. aims to provide an environment open to creative ideas to help youth thrive with many opportunities to grow ones’ leadership skills.
