Who We Are

Our mission is to promote the whole family, combat community blight and deterioration and contribute to community advancement. We provide programs and services that promote a safe and healthy neighborhood,advance family stability and empower community residents. Bates CDC was incorporated in 1996 and established as a 501(c)3 organization to engage in a wide range of community development activities and the provision of social services for the purposes of combating blight and deterioration in the Louisville metropolitan area and contribute to the advancement of community life.  From the beginning, the goals and objectives of the organization have been to give reasonable promise that a stable environment will be created in the neighborhood by providing education opportunities for children and their parents, offering services including counseling and life skills training and developing low to moderate income housing for rental or sale. Our programs and activities are designed to remain consistent with our purposes of creating a stable environment in the neighborhood.

What We Do

-Promote appreciation of life

-Promote personal and professional growth through development opportunities

-Foster active, healthy lifestyle, urban gardener(farmer)  

-provide an atmosphere for fellowship and mutual sharing

-Compassionately serve human needs

-Provide services that will positively change/impact society

-Provide Educational and Enrichment programs, Grades 1-8th
