Who We Are
We protect, nurture, and support children and families to build stronger, safer communities.
Safe children, supported families, strong communities.
Family and Children's Place was founded in 1883 as the Charity Organization Society supporting the unhoused and offering a daycare for working mothers. Over the next 143 years, Family and Children's Place evolved to be the primary response organization for children who have experienced extreme abuse and works directly with families to offer support through education, child care, and resources that help children and families thrive.
What We Do
Family and Children's Place has over a 140 year history of protecting, nurturing, and caring for families and children through many stages of life. We do this through the Children's Advocacy Center, Head Start, HANDS, School Based Services, and Visitation and Parenting Services programs. All are part of responding to and preventing abuse of children.
