Louisville Olmsted Parks Conservancy, Inc. was formed in 1989 as a non-profit partner of Louisville and Metro Parks with a mission "to restore, enhance and preserve the unique value of Louisville's Olmsted Parks and Parkways for all citizens, and to extend this legacy throughout Greater Louisville for generations to come."
Our Woodlands Restoration Team aims to: restore the natural communities (woodlands and streams and meadows) to a healthy state. Enhance habitat features to attract and sustain wildlife. Manage the woodlands and waterways with a commitment to the needs of biodiversity and ecological processes. Foster a long-term relationship between the community and nature by involving citizens, organizations and agencies in the restoration efforts. Involve school groups in restoration activities. Lead informational nature walks throughout the year (bird walks, spring wildflowers, geology, native and non-native plants. Host public events in these parks to celebrate and educate about the natural areas restoration.
