Who We Are

We are a faith-based 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to helping economically disadvantaged individuals who are living on the edge, struggling to cover their basic needs. Our primary focus is on those who rely on each paycheck to make ends meet and face daily challenges in providing for themselves and their families. The insufficient income they receive puts them at risk of unemployment and homelessness, unless they are offered solutions that not only address their immediate circumstances but also guide them towards financial awareness, leading to improved financial decision-making. A Hand Up is strongly dedicated to providing education in effective money management to both adults and youth, fostering the development of essential financial skills. Our financial empowerment program equips participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in various aspects of personal finance, including budgeting, saving, consumer credit, debt management, loans, investing, and home ownership. Our ultimate goal is to break the cycle of poverty by instilling a desire in each participant to become more responsible and knowledgeable about managing their finances.

What We Do

Our primary goal is to instill hope and offer assistance by connecting individuals with the essential resources needed to lead secure and fulfilling lives.

Financial Literacy:  The primary objective of the financial empowerment program is to provide financial education that helps individuals develop the necessary skills that lead to financial independence.

We accomplish this by offering six to eight-week-long incentivized programs for adults during the spring and fall, along with a specially tailored program for youth during the summer.

Participants in our programs gain knowledge and hands-on simulated exposure to various wealth-related topics such as budgeting, saving, consumer credit, debt, loans, investing, and home ownership.
