Who We Are
Granny’s Birth Initiative is a community-rooted, family-centered nonprofit dedicated to improving the birthing and parenting experience for marginalized families. We believe that every person deserves to give birth with dignity, safety, and love. We are: Advocates for maternal and infant health equity. Doulas, educators, and mentors providing hands-on support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Community builders creating safe spaces where families are nurtured and empowered. Change agents working to transform systemic barriers in healthcare and society that disproportionately affect BIPOC families.
What We Do
Granny’s Birth Initiative focuses on supporting birthing people, families, and communities through compassionate care, advocacy, and education. The organization works to reduce disparities in maternal and infant health—especially in communities that have historically experienced systemic inequities in healthcare.
