Feed Louisville

As a commissary kitchen focused on food justice, our work exists to support the work of our multiple community feeding partners. ​ Our partners are on the front-lines every day whether as street outreach programs, day shelters, food pantries or other programs that connect people experiencing hunger with resources. Feed Louisville is a team of professional chefs on a mission to address this crisis. We prevent perfectly good food from being wasted, and use it to make beautiful meals for our unhoused and food insecure community. Our kitchen is an intersection between food rescue + hunger relief.

Volunteers in our headquarters kitchen help produce up to 1,000 hot meals each day. Working alongside our professional chefs and packaging manager, kitchen prep volunteers assist with a variety of tasks—from chopping, peeling, and food prep to packaging meals, making snack bags or sandwiches, receiving donations, and organizing the walk-in. This role is perfect for anyone who enjoys being hands-on in the kitchen and helping keep our meal production running smoothly. ​No experience is required.
