Volunteer Work Plan
Monday, December 9, 2024
Tasks:
- Sorting (10:00 AM - 12:30 PM): Volunteers will sort all donated items—such as toys, books, crafts, puzzles, clothes, backpacks, ornaments, and other knick-knacks—by age and gender.
- Shopping (12:30 PM - 3:00 PM): After sorting is complete, volunteers will begin “shopping” for families, selecting items based on the children’s ages, genders, neighborhoods, and zip codes.
- Quality Control (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM): Once bags are packed, volunteers will ensure that items match what the family has requested.
- Deliveries (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM): Delivery drivers will contact families via text before leaving, and call them upon arrival.
Throughout the day, as new donations come in, they will also need to be sorted into their respective spaces. Volunteers are encouraged to take pictures and tag us at @changetodaychangetomorrow to spread the word on social media.

- Continue sorting any remaining items from previous days.
- Focus primarily on shopping for families and making deliveries. .
Wednesday, December 11, 2024
Tasks:
- Final Delivery Attempts (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM): Volunteers will make one last attempt to deliver any remaining items to families who missed earlier delivery attempts. This day will be the final delivery attempt for all families
- Drive-Thru Giveaway (12:00 PM onwards): Any leftover items will be given away in a drive-thru format. Volunteers will help distribute items to those in need.
Special Event
We’re hosting a venue walk-through and happy hour for all volunteers and past supporters on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Trellis Brewing (827 Logan Street). This is a great chance to meet our team, ask questions, and get a feel for the space before the event. The first drink is on us!
