Community Health Champion: Contribute Your Expertise as a Committee or Board Member
Are you a health and wellness professional passionate about making a difference in your community? We're seeking individuals with expertise in various health-related fields—including public health, health promotion, nutrition, dietetics, counseling, coaching, nursing, medicine, community health work, and more—to join our committee/board. Help us guide our programs and policies, provide health education and support to our neighbors, and foster a healthier community for all. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills and knowledge to empower individuals and improve community well-being.
What you'll do (depending on your chosen role):
- Committee Member (Internal Affairs/Programs Committee): Collaborate with other committee members to develop and implement strategies that promote health and well-being, address chronic disease, and improve access to vital resources. You'll provide expert guidance on program development, health education initiatives, and community outreach.
- Board Member: Participate in board meetings, contribute to organizational decision-making, fulfill fiduciary responsibilities, provide strategic oversight of health and wellness initiatives, and ensure alignment with community needs.
Regardless of your role, you might:
- Advise on the development and implementation of health-related programs and policies.
- Provide expertise on best practices in health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management.
- Contribute to the creation and dissemination of health education materials.
- Help us identify and address community health needs.
- Advocate for policies that support community health and well-being.
- Offer insights into effective strategies for engaging neighbors in health-related initiatives.
What you'll need:
- Demonstrated expertise in a health and wellness related field (e.g., public health, health promotion, nutrition, dietetics, counseling, coaching, nursing, medicine, community health work).
- Strong understanding of community health principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A passion for our mission and a commitment to serving our community.
- (For Board Service) Willingness to serve on the board, attend meetings, and actively participate in governance.
