Importance of Position: The TeleCare Volunteer provides a reliable means of contact for older adults and promotes social engagement and personal connection.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Completes assigned calls to participants in a timely manner.
- Treating participant with kindness, consideration, and respect at all times.
- Ask open-ended questions. Recognize possible concerns or health problems by listening carefully to complaints and reporting to Program Coordinator.
- Comply with the Confidentiality Agreement, maintaining the bond of trust we have with our participants.
- Notifies Program Coordinator within 48 hours if you are unable to keep your commitment.
- Represents ElderServe in a positive manner.
Qualifications
- Enjoys and values conversations with older adults.
- Ability to speak cheerfully and positively about daily life.
- Ability to speak clearly, patiently and at times, slowly.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Physical and cognitive ability to use a telephone, make verbal reports, and maintain a record of their calls and volunteer time.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional, cooperative manner with participants, their families and caregivers, and ElderServe staff.
Training Provided: Orientation provided by staff before starting, as well as annual trainings and webinars.

Time Commitment: Phone calls must be completed between 8:00am and 1:00pm on assigned weekdays.
Location: Phone calls can be made from any location that is free of unnecessary background noise that would make it difficult for an older adult to hear.
Grounds for Termination: Failure to carry out assigned responsibilities. Breach of confidentiality.
