Our team works weekly to collect the names and contact information of community members who are facing eviction and we attempt to reach out to them by phone or email. If we are unable to find contact information for the home renter or they don’t respond to our phone calls, we move to the door-knocking portion of this work.
Door-knocking is scheduled for:
Tuesdays from 5:00PM-7:00PM
Saturdays from 10:00AM-12:30PM
Door-knocking must be done in pairs by volunteers who have completed training. Volunteer training will be provided.

Over 16,000 filed in 2019
Eviction rate in Louisville is 2X national average.
Black families in KY are 2.5 time more likely to be in eviction compared to white families.
There are about 60 eviction cases called per day which equals to about 240-250 eviction cases per week:
-Despite the pandemic
-Despite the CDC declaration
-Despite the fact that children literally cannot go to school if they are evicted due to NTI.
Our Goal:
Prevent/reduce the number of evictions for non-payment of rent and “self-evictions”.
Share information about rent assistance resources and tools home renters can use in their defense.
Identify home renters who are in need of additional support.
Document barriers that home renters may have.
