You can help cook, prep, or serve a meal to the hungry in our community at the Franciscan Kitchen.
There are two volunteer slots for our weekday meal schedule.
In the Prep & Cook Assist slot, you will generally be assisting our cooks and regular volunteers in preparing the day's meal prior to our opening at 10:30 a.m. The later slot is called Serve/Clean/Wrap-Up and involves serving at the food or drinks stations, cleaning trays, pots, pans, and utensils, and wrapping up meal service with a clean-up of the serving areas.
On Saturdays, there is one slot, encompassing all the duties described above, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m.
During the week, the maximum number for a group sign-up is 10 people, and is usually less than that, depending on the day.
