PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
One group of volunteers will help us clean the cooking, prep, and serving areas of our facility (indoors). Another group will clean the outdoor dining areas.
Volunteers will sweep, mop, scrub, wash, and disinfect the stoves, ovens, prep tables, sinks, steam table, serving table surfaces and floors inside the building.
Outside crew would power wash the concrete pad, garbage containers, and picnic table surfaces in the outdoor seating area.
While our staff and regular volunteers engage in daily cleaning of our facility, everyday use of all areas involved in preparing and serving roughly 600 hot meals takes a toll. A deep clean with the assistance of dedicated crew will enable us to maintain maximum efficiency of all our equipment and make the areas more attractive and sanitary for volunteers and guests alike.
DAY OF ACTION IMPACT:
Metro United Way’s Day of Action launched in 2018 to harness the spirit and power of volunteers, bringing corporate teams together to take on some of our community’s toughest challenges. Over the last five years, 2000 volunteers from 105 companies have completed 130 projects in seven counties in two states.
