Who We Are
St. John Center (SJC) is a human-centered organization that helps people who are facing homelessness navigate the barriers to housing and stability so that they can move home, for good.
Opened in 1986 by Sr. Mary Kathleen Sheehan, SCN and volunteers, SJC values the inherent dignity of each person we serve.

What We Do
SJC's work encompasses 3 programs: the Day Shelter and Social Services Center, Street Outreach, and Supportive Housing.
Volunteers are the heart of the day shelter, and serve in 2-hour shifts of their choosing, which makes volunteering at SJC accessible and flexible with your schedule.
Volunteers welcome guests to the Day Shelter, answer phones, provide mail service, serve coffee, and provide hygiene supplies for showers and clean towels.
